HOTEL CHISCA RENOVATION, $30M
From Elvis to luxury living, this 100-year old building was vacant and blighted for decades. The Chisca on Main was renovated and reopened in 2015. More than 60 years after the first broadcast of an Elvis song (That’s Alright Mama), these walls are now home to 159 apartments, the Tuscan and Sicilian cuisine of Catherine & Mary’s Restaurant, and the fast-casual Swanky’s Taco Shop.  


Tennessee Brewery Apartments

TENNESSEE BREWERY APARTMENTS, $40M
This project includes the renovation of the historic 128-year-old Tennessee Brewery and new construction into 275 apartments with commercial space, parking, and a gym. The Brewery Apartments opened in 2016, and includes an adjoining four-story building called The Wash House. The next phase, the Tap Room is currently under construction. A 339-space parking garage is located directly across the street.


MAIN TO MAIN MULTIMODAL CONNECTOR PROJECT, $30M
Downtown Memphis received a $15 million federal transportation matching grant ($15 million coming from other sources) that will make infrastructure improvements along Main Street from Uptown through South Main, including new sidewalks, street paving and plantings. Work is underway now. The project also includes transforming the Harahan Bridge into a bike and pedestrian path over the Mississippi River.

266 MEMPHIS LOFTS, $17.8M
This three-building project includes 145 residential units in two of the buildings and a restaurant, bar and commercial space in the other building. The three buildings are connected by a shared courtyard.


HALLORAN CENTRE FOR PERFORMING ARTS & EDUCATION, $12M
This new state-of-the-art facility was constructed just south of The Orpheum Theater, and has allowed the theater to grow its performing arts programs and increase participation to more than 100,000 theater arts lovers each year.


722 RIVERSIDE DRIVE, $10M+
Future construction of five four-story buildings in the vacant block at Carolina and Riverside will include residential and retail.

SOUTH MAIN ARTSPACE LOFTS, $17M
South Main Artspace Lofts, an adaptive reuse of the former United Warehouse, offers 63 affordable live/work spaces as well as 28,000 square feet of commercial and community spaces for performances, galleries and events.

BLUES HALL OF FAME, $3.5M
Spearheaded by the Blues Foundation, Memphis is the rightful home of the Blues Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is housed in the Foundation's 7,700-square-foot basement at 421 S. Main St., and draws thousands of visitors each year. The Hall of Fame opened in May 2015.


OLD DOMINICK DISTILLERY, $5M
The conversion of this 1920s 54,000-square-foot warehouse on Front Street includes a distillery, tasting room, gift shop and the nationally-acclaimed Gray Canary Restaurant. Daily tours are available in addition to frequent events and music.

PRINTERS ALLEY LOFTS AND ANNEX, $3M
Printer’s Alley on Front Street includes a revamped 24,600-square-foot existing structure for 20 loft-style apartments and a newly-erected three-story building and parking lot for nine townhomes, retail and secured parking. Visit Two Girls and a Whip for simply amazing cupcakes and other treats.


SOUTH MAIN JUNCTION APARTMENTS, $26M
Construction was completed in 2014 on this 281-unit apartment community between Carolina and Florida Streets. 


CRESCENT BLUFF APARTMENTS - PHASE 2, $10M
The construction of 172 affordable apartments on Crump between Main and Virginia was completed in 2015.
